Credit Counselling

I just got back from my second and final credit counselling session (mandatory for all new bankrupts). See, I went bankrupt in september after Jessica left, because her leaving made me instantly insolvent (what with the child support and daycare arrangements I consented to), sucks to be my creditors. Actually relaly sucks to be CitiFinanacial (see my other post about how they failed to intimidate), and those bozos even keep sending me offers in the mail. Retards.

Anyhow, I had a nice sit down talk with the credit counselling lady (who's name I'll withhold). We talked a little bit about my financial situation but then moved on to the more interesting topics of peak oil, the world money system, the rising powers of China, eco-villages, pshychic phenomenon and other fun stuff. She kept the conversation going, and I love to talk about that kind of stuff hehe. Also, she let me know that I'll be discharged from bankruptcy on June 17th.

After that I went over to the bank and converted my certified cheque from the paymaster into nice unmarked new style $50 notes.

Portable Vaporizer

A few years ago some friends and I, concerned about smoking (or, concerned about not having enough $, whatever) had the idea to design and manufacture a portable battery operator cannabis vaporizer. The product didnt seem to exist, and we all wanted one. The project never got off the ground of course, but the idea was still a good one.

I just found the site of a company who is selling a device very similar to our concept. Good for them! :) The only problem (and why I _wont_ buy one yet) is that it costs about 3x as much as it should. Should cost $100, costs $300 in reality.

Hrmm. now I am wondering if I can find a chinese manufacturer via alibaba.com for this kind of thing and do it myself. Bah no time for it.

Finger Damage.

So this is what I did to my finger on Feb 12. Click for the set and you can see it's healed up pretty well so far. The fingernail is still probably a goner but also still holding on strong for now.

Whole Village Farm -- and Blacksmithing?

I've paid a couple of visits to Whole Village farm. Once for an orientation meeting. Again for a work bees session. I injured my finger at the work bees. I want to go back there though. Was thinking of attending tonights meeting of the round, but not so sure I'm up for the drive at the moment.

I am still trying to figure out what I'm going to do in the future and at the moment buddying up with some eco village types seems to be one of the most sensible things to do.

Another sensible thing to do is obtain skills that will be more useful in an era of powerdown. I dont really have any -- I do computer programming / web applications shit for money to live with. That could be a problem in the future for me and so if I want to avoid back breaking field work maybe it would be a good idea to obtain some slighly more interesting back breaking skills -- like blacksmithing.

Dont get me wrong tho -- I do want to learn the ins and outs of organic biodynamic farming -- But I can tell you already I want to know this stuff more out of a matter of survival than personal hobby interest.

Time and time again I've proven to myself that I am only really capable of learning something by actually doing it. Research and reading helps to lay a foundation but I know I never really "get" any new topic until I actually do something with the knowledge. Trying to get back into that.

I also think I need to lay off the pot.

Peak Oil Intro

Ok if you live in a bubble. Or maybe (haha), if you dont live in enough of a bubble -- heres a link to a Financial Sense mp3 interview/roundtable thing with Heinberg and Kunstler facilitated by Jim Puplava -- page which links to mp3 with a better description than I can muster. If the mp3 link ever goes offline just contact me and remind me I saved it in my "audio recordings" folder - I'll get it to you.

Soup

Soup

Eating soup right now. Takes only a few minutes to make. Heres a link. This is the one I'm eating - herbed chicken. Yumm. About CAD$1.67 per can I think. A little much to spend on one measly meal, but its all about prep-time -- for me, practially zero. My kind of meal.

Those wacky cartoons

So I finally found those wacky cartoons that have somehow (cartoons!!!???) caused riots. I dont see the big deal. Here. Some of them might be offensive, but most of them I really dont get what the big deal is.

Update: Ok I have just found out this is all a total load of shit since these imam guys who are inciting their followers to flip out and burn and kill things actually added in more cartoons than the original 12 (sorry bout ads on that link, first source I could find with quick google news search for 'cartoons added'), because apparently the original 12 werent incendiary enough. Fucking retards! Oh my gosh .. well this guy has more on it. I dont have time to find all 3 of the added toons, but this post shows one and its source.
